Abstract

The present paper deals with a comparison of systems of vocational education. Th ree different systems are shortly described, namely vocational education (schools of the level ISCED 3) in Sweden, Germany and USA. Special attention is devoted to dual model of professional education and the problems of apprenticeship in particular. The author argues that the research of vocational education is greatly underestimated in the Czech Republic. On the contrary, in other countries research of vocational education and professional training is intensively developed in other countries, including comparative studies of vocational education systems.
